"The Piranha's Pool Palace”

It has been a while since I last wrote something new here. The summer was fully charged, with many changes and challenges. So, I am back writing about this latest Art piece that I finished on 17 September 2023.

Teeth and eyes in a swirling geometric grid with circles…. The name for this piece seems almost inevitable: The Piranha's Pool Palace. They are having a party! Sharks also crossed my mind, but they would not quite fit into this pool.

I worked on this piece over nearly three months, watching it slowly develop, thinking about where this abstraction was going… always looking to balance positive and negative spaces, black and white, repeated patterns, without becoming overly symmetrical. It was a tricky exercise, all the while trying to keep tight, clean, and sharp control over all of the detailing in the inkwork while maintaining a sense of humor and playfulness.

Be careful to avoid those sharp teeth!
